High flow stainless downpipes for more sound, less weight and better flow

The factory exhaust on the McLaren 720S does a good job of keeping things quiet and controlled, but it also leaves a lot of performance and character on the table. Unobtanium’s high flow stainless downpipes are designed to free up the 4.0 liter twin turbo V8, reducing backpressure after the turbos so they can spool more efficiently and breathe into a much less restrictive path. The result is a sharper, more responsive car with a more authentic supercar sound track.

These downpipes are built from high quality 304 stainless steel and follow the same state of the art “no compromise” design Unobtanium uses across their 720S exhaust line. You can choose 3 inch or 3.5 inch tubing and catted or catless versions to match your power goals, noise preference and local regulations. Each set uses proprietary CNC machined flanges, proper heat shield mounting and hardware that lines up with factory locations, so fitment is clean and repeatable.

On the road and track, the combination of smoother internal geometry and larger cross section helps the turbos work easier, which supports higher power levels and tuning while also bringing out more turbo whistle and V8 tone. Paired with Unobtanium’s X pipe or cat back systems, the car picks up a deeper, more exotic sound without the thin or raspy character you sometimes get from generic systems.
